It's trivial to do it portably for typically available precisions:
1. SELECTED_REAL_KIND (PRECISION (1.0) )
2. SELECTED_REAL_KIND (PRECISION (1.0D0) )
3. SELECTED_REAL_KIND (PRECISION (1.0D0) + 1 )
