As the structure of the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council is
considered by a high level Design Group, the April issue of Library
Technology journal features the applications of new technology in the
archives sector.
Brenda Weeden, Archivist at the University of Westminster, overviews
the area, and explains some of the differences between the archives
and libraries sectors.
Meg Sweet and David Thomas describe in two articles current and
future developments at the Public Record Office.
Digitising and imaging are topics of interest for both libraries and
archives sectors. The article by Richard Gartner describes work undertaken by the Bodleian
Library in Oxford for the Internet Library of Early Journals project.
