"Joint Modelling of Longitudinal and Event History Data"
Dr. Robin Henderson
(Lancaster University )
Many scientific investigations generate both longitudinal
measurement data, with repeated measurements of a
response variable at a number of time points, and
event history data, in which times to or between recurrent or
terminating events are recorded. Whilst the two separate
areas of longitudinal data analysis and event history analysis
now have well developed statistical methodologies, until
recently there has been rather little attention given to the
possibilities for joint analysis. This talk reviews
available models and methods for joint analysis of the
two components. A joint model incorporating the most
commonly used first-choice assumptions from both subject
areas is suggested and an example from pharmaceutical research
is used to illustrate the ideas.
