We have a patient with a carcinoma in the head of the pancreas, who
now has developed a dysfunction in the drain of the galbladder. I was
struck by the creatinine values:
date 1/6 3/6 4/6
creat 120 221 425
bili 513 352 287
AF 791 768 593
Amylase 73 192 335
Lipase 75 340 564
We measure creatinine by a kinetic Jaffe method, with automatic
correction for bilirubin on an Hitachi 911. Inspection of the
reaction curve shows a normal pattern. No clinical details
available (e.g. urine production). Has anyone experience with this
combination of results? Is it tissue autolysis while the biliary
obstruction resolves? Any comment appreciated.
