Dear all
Following is my point of view in response of letter from Sittha Jaensirisak.
We have done so many things to reduce congestion, such as ITS, TSM, more
road infrastructure building, city planning to reduce congestion or to
reduce car use, etc. My feeling is that so far we have done, all goes to
increase the utility of car use. So roads are becoming overwhelming by auto
more and more day by day. Then what about road pricing ? I personally do not
support such TDM measures which encourage social inequality. For example,
people who can pay the road pricing or congestion pricing, will use personal
car and other cannot. My suggestion to adopt such TDM measures which will
not encourage such social inequality.
