POSTGRADUATE COURSES IN TRANSPORT STUDIES
at Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds
All taught Masters courses are available over 12 months, or part
time over a longer period. A subset of modules can be taken as a
Diploma over a minimum of 9 months.
MSc(Eng) Transport Planning and Engineering offers students from
a variety of backgrounds a firm grounding in transport planning and
engineering, with an opportunity to specialise in either area. Core
modules include Transport Planning Policy, Transport Engineering,
Transport Modelling, Data Collection & Analysis. Students also
choose 4 from 16 optional modules, and write a dissertation over 3
months.
MSc Transport Planning offers students a chance to specialise in
transport planning issues, replacing the engineering element of the
MSc(Eng) with an in-depth study of transport planning practice, its
relationship to physical planning and project finance.
MA Transport Economics is aimed specifically at students with a
background in economics who wish to develop and apply their skills in
the transport sector. Modules include Transport Economics, Cost-
Benefit Analysis, Transport Modelling, Econometrics, plus 4 from
10 options and a 3 months dissertation.
