I am currently undertaking an university project to create an action plan for
removing much of the congestion in Glasgow City Centre, Scotland.
I would appreciate it if any one could point me in the right direction
concerning the following querires
1) Are there any good sources of city centre traffic data for Glasgow in the
public domain. (Or any other localised information base that would be helpful)
2) Does anyone have any information on how the recent changes to Edinburgh
city centre were funded.
3) Still on funding, where could I find out about the amount available and
methods of application for other suitable funding providers (e.g. European
Commision, government (local and national), National lottery.
4) Is there any worldwide transportation partnerships between private
enterprise and a political body that has undertook a major reorganisation of
traffic systems to mutual benefit.
5) Does anyone know of a succesful long term implementation of a car quota
scheme (similar to the trial carried out in major French cities recently) i.e.
only letting cars registered with an 'odd' registration one week and then only
letting in 'even' registration plates the next week
Thanks in advance,
Robert Watt
