We are using LCD projectors (e.g., the Boxlite 550m/InFocus LP 435Z
http://www.lcd-projector.com/specials.html ) displaying stimuli from a
Macintosh (Superlab http://www.cedrus.com/ presentation software) or PC
(MEL/E-prime http://www.pstnet.com/e-prime/e-prime.htm presentation
software) onto a screen in the magnet room. The display aspect works fine
for our needs (word and picture presentations). We have seen numerous
vendor listing for high-priced audio or visual systems for subjects to wear
in the scanner, though we have not found a need for them
(http://www.pstnet.com/fmri/IFIS.htm , http://www.avotec.org ,
http://www.neuroscan.com). Our strongest need is for an affordable
response system that can work across different platforms, and we are trying
to develop one at the moment. Anyone feel strongly about fiber optics
versus the possibilities of an electromechanical system?
