Dear Andy:
I've seen this before. I believe it is a Matlab and not an spm error.
There is some problem with matlab's implementation of postscript 2 on
Windows NT (may also be true for Windows 98) at least for versions
5.2 and 5.3 of matlab. If you change spm defaults to postscript 1
(either B&W or color) the problem should go away. Unfortunately
postscript 1 file sizes are many times larger than 2. It seems to be
related to windows with multiple axes but I'm not entirely positive.
Last I searched through the matlab archives (in 11/99) there was no
fix yet.
