UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE
CENTRE FOR SPEECH AND LANGUAGE
DEPARTMENT OF EXPERIMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY
Post-doctoral Research Associate (full time)
in Statistics and Image Analysis
The Centre for Speech and Language (CSL) at Cambridge University is seeking
a postdoctoral research associate in the area of fMRI methods and analyses.
The research focus is on fMRI statistics, particularly related to
single-event fMRI and trial-based fMRI paradigms and including image
preprocessing issues centred on analyzing data from patients with focal
brain damage.
The CSL is an inter-disciplinary research group investigating the neural
correlates of language processing in both normal and impaired populations;
as such, both structural and functional neuroimaging play an important role
in this research. We are looking for a candidate interested in developing
new techniques/tools/methods for applying fMRI to research in the cognitive
neuroscience of language.
Although located at the Centre for Speech and Language, the post will
involve substantial collaboration with staff at the Wolfson Brain Imaging
Centre (WBIC) and the Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (CBU) in Cambridge.
The ideal applicant would have relevant experience with statistics / time
series analysis / image analysis research, with a doctoral degree or
equivalent. The position is for two years from October 1, 1999.
CVs should be sent to Professor Lorraine K. Tyler by post (Centre for
Speech and Language, Department of Experimental Psychology, University of
Cambridge, Downing Street, Cambridge, CB2 3EB) or by email
([log in to unmask]), along with names of two referees.
The University of Cambridge is an equal opportunities employer.
