Presentation and evaluation of open and distance learning materials
A 2-day workshop
Date: 15-16th June 1999, 09.30 - 17.00
Venue: The Open University Training Centre, Cofferidge Close, Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes
Who will benefit: Course developers, trainers, writers, editors and managers concerned with the briefing and training of colleagues who will be assembling self-instructional course materials.
Workshop aims: The two day programme will be a combination of presentations and seminars, workshops, simulations and games. It is designed to help you to:
* consider the role of advance organisers in self-instructional teaching materials
* explore the function of access devices and value of a House Style
* describe the costs and benefits of learners support
* devise a format for clearing copyright for existing materials
* plan the sequencing and structure of teaching materials
* consider the layout and design of printed and electronic materials
* explore a classification for illustrative materials
* plan the developmental testing of course materials
* improve the quality of draft materials
* evaluate the system, materials and learners
