Research Assistant
For 12 months starting in October 1999
This is an opportunity to be involved with leading edge developments in vehicle
management technology. The research will be sponsored by industry with the aim
to develop software to provide a routing and scheduling facility for a vehicle
management system. The Research Assistant will work under the supervision of
R.W. Eglese and A.N. Letchford of the Department of Management Science,
Lancaster University. The Research Assistant will be responsible for producing
new computer code and its documentation and testing.
The research assistant should have a first degree or higher qualification in a
subject which includes some Operational Research or similar quantitative
modelling techniques. He or she should be a competent programmer in a suitable
development language and have good communication skills.
There are possibilities for the person appointed to register for a research
degree by part-time study and for the appointment to be extended.
