Dear colleagues,
As a result of the concern expressed by some historians about the
accessibility of documents currently held at Bletchley Park I have
pursued enquiries on behalf of the Forum of the History of Science
Technology and Medicine. Today I have received a letter from the
Chairman of the Bletchley Park Trust confirming `that the Trust's
policy is for access to [unclassified and declassified] archives by
bona fide historians to be as free as possible bearing in mind the
very limited resources within the Trust'. In respect to the issue of
limited resources the Chairman asks historians wishing to consult
this material to submit a request in writing to the Trust so that
arrangements can be made.
Yours sincerely
Geoffrey Cantor
(Chair of Forum of HSTM)
