Professor or Reader in Film Studies
Applications are invited for appointment as Professor or Reader in Film
Studies within the School of Drama, Film and Visual Arts. The School,
located within the Faculty of Humanities, comprises Drama & Theatre
Studies, Film Studies, History & Theory of Art, and Image Studies. The
appointment will be available from 1st January 2000. Candidates should
have a substantial international record of research, publication and
achievement in any area of Film Studies. The person appointed is
expected to provide teaching and research leadership within Film Studies
and to contribute to the academic and management leadership within the
School and the University.
Kent is a major centre for Film Studies, offering research and
taught-course postgraduate programmes together with an undergraduate
single honours degree course in film involving film-making, as well as
combined courses in film and other humanities subjects.
