THE MILLENNIUM FILM CONFERENCE:
A Celebration of Cinema(s) Past, Present, and Future
Hosted by the Department of European Studies and Modern Languages of the
University of Bath, UK., in collaboration with the Literature/Film
Association

CALL FOR PAPERS
In the final year of the millennium, this interdisciplinary conference
offers a celebration of cinema. It will consider major themes and
theoretical and critical concerns which have emerged through a century of
cinema, and will explore the future of the film industry. Panels will be
devoted to aspects such as:
Images and Words: Film and Literature
Film and the Arts: Painting/Music/Architecture
Questions of Identity: Film and History/Film and Memory
Utopian and Dystopian Visions
Journeys and Border Crossings
Adaptation and Translation
Abstracts, of 300 words, to be sent in duplicate (hard copy) by February
15 at the latest. Panels will be formed, and contributors will be
informed by letter, in early March.
