Some of you who have looked at the 24 Hour Museum will have noticed that
the clock is not showing the correct time. Others will not! The clock is
supposed to take the time from the computer being used. Unfortunately,
different Java Virtual Machines behave differently when interpreting a
computer's system time.
This means they show different times. To correct for this we need to
detect individual Java VM types and compensate for known discrepancies.
Without full information about different browsers (that have different
Java VMs) we cannot fix all possible combinations so need as much
information as possible about
1. Browser type / version
2. Operating System
3. System clock time
4. Positive or negative discrepancy in java clock time display.
If we ask for this information on the 24 Hour Museum site, there is the
danger that we will get 50,000 responses! We would be very grateful if
the more select membership of this mailing list could help us to resolve
this problem. Could you look at the site and tell us whether the clock
shown is faster or slower than the system clock on you computer. We also
need the other information mentioned above. Please also let us know if
your computer is networked. The 24 Hour Museum can be found at:
