GETTING RESEARCH RESULTS DISSEMNINATED AND USED
24th. JUNE 1999, YORK

The Library and Information Research Group (LIRG) is holding a workshop
designed to help participants to consider key aspects of research
dissemination and uptake.  It will cover a variety of methods of
dissemination from report writing to presenting seminars.  Participants will
explore ways of ensuring that their research has a good impact.  The
workshop will be useful to those who are conducting research and wish to
ensure that their research results are used.  

By the end of the day, participants will have:

*	Considered the benefits of a strategic approach to dissemination and
uptake of research
*	Compared the merits of different techniques for encouraging
dissemination and uptake.
*	Explored the range of dissemination and uptake methods available.
*	Discussed and practised the presentation of research results

The workshop has been designed and is being delivered for the Library &
Information Research Group by David Haynes of David Haynes Associates and
David Streatfield of Information Management Associates.
 
The workshop is supported by the Library & Information Commission.
