Don't miss your chance to attend:

Managing a Business Link information service
24 March, LAHQ, London

Business Link Information Services have characteristics which, although not
unique, do mean that there are distinct approaches which can be taken when
considering their management and development.

Business information is volatile, messy, contradictory and potentially very
powerful. The services which are developed around this difficult area of
information need to be highly responsive to the culture from which the
enquiries arise. Business information collections experience a greater
degree of real external competition than many other areas of the library and
information profession.

How will this event help you?
This workshop will address key issues underlying effective, winning,
business information service provision. Issues will be addressed from the
perspective of the enquirers and their needs.

By the end of the day you will have:
*	mapped out the information needs of Business Link information
service users and addressed your place in the supply chain for the
satisfaction of these needs
*	considered the potential for service packages by distinct segment
needs
*	discussed all elements of the marketing mix; product, price,
distribution, promotion, processes and people
*	addressed issues of administration, monitoring and control
*	met other delegates committed to the provision of Business Link
information services.

Who should attend?
This course will be of benefit to those responsible for the management of a
Business Link information service.

Workshop leaders:
Terry Kendrick, Information Now Ltd. and Julian Blackmore, Personal Business
Adviser, Business Link, Norfolk and Waveney.

Terry has run his own information consultancy and brokerage since 1986,
running workshops on information and marketing planning worldwide.

Julian has been a Personal Adviser for the past three years. In addition he
has his own marketing and business planning activities.
