The BIOME Hub, part of the Resource Discovery Network:
http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/lis-elib/1999-01/0039.html
...will consist of a family of five hublets, each covering a more specific
part of the Health, Life and Medical Sciences:
- veterinary sciences
- natural world
- health and medicine
- biological research
- agriculture
Each of these hublets will offer access, in true quality subject gateway
style, to high quality network-based resources in its subject area.
The Hub builds on the content and experience of the OMNI gateway, based at
Nottingham. Joining the team are seven high profile UK-based consortium
partners, who bring with them a formidable array of skills and experiences
across all of the life, medical and health sciences.
The BIOME proposal, approved by the JISC who are partial funders, can be
