With just two weeks to go, UmbrelLa 5, The Library Association's bi-ennial
event for all its 22 special interest groups - is having yet more
prestigious meeting announcements.
Replacing Alan Howarth will be Chris Smith, Secretary of State for Culture,
for the UmbrelLa Opening Plenary (16.30 Thursday 1 July) when a major policy
statement is expected.
And, in addition to the 100 plus meetings listed in the 24 page UmbrelLa 5
preview, a number of new ones have been added including:
* What's new at LIC - with a speaker from the Library and Information
Commission (15.00 Thursday 1 July) and
* leading crime writer, Mike Phillips, will be speaking at a Library
Campaign session (14.00 Saturday 3 July)
