We have encountered a serious problem at Sheffield where we
operate ILLs on 8 sites. The BL are sending photocopies packed in
multiples but for different sites! This not only means we have to
open all the photocopies, a time-consuming task in itself with the
number that we deal with, but there is also a significant delay for
readers who are unfortunate enough to have their photocopies sent
to the wrong site. Also before we realised this was happening we
sent out many multiple photocopies to readers who have since found
items for other sites enclosed. I'm sure there are many more who
have simply thrown the alien photocopies away. I think in this case
that the BL should re-supply because they never warned us that
they would be doing this.
I am aware that the answer to all this is ADD Address but Talis do
not currently allow this service so we do not have that option. We
are submitting a formal complaint to the BL about this. Is anyone
else having the same problem?
