We are an ITT provider, currently fairly occupied with ensuring that
students on our ITT programmes meet the standards identified for
comptetence in ICT. We are experiencing particular difficulty with
providing opportunities for students to practise 'installing' CDROM
material, since our network will not permit this (for reasons which I
do not fully understand....). Although we could use standalone
machines for this purpose, we would prefer not to have to as this
would be very limiting in terms of location.
Has anyone found an effective way of enabling students to install
CDROM material temporarily via networked PCs, without creating
problems for the network? What, if any, additional software might
we need?
Any thoughts gratefully received.
