This is becoming interesting isn't it? I think we have doubled (or even
trebled) e-mail traffic on here within a day!!
I do wonder, however, how the merger with the Insitute of Information
Scientists might affect the perception of what the term/job of librarian
entails. I do not wish to offend anyone, but there are in all probability
some hardened information scientists out there who would rather die than
call themselves librarians. And most likely this could be reversed.
Is this merger about creating a new role and perception for ourselves, and
if so, what should it be?
