Dear Gordon
I did route b so didn't have any imput. I just read around went to meetings
etc. I think the examiners realise that no-one has the perfect background
to write a PDR in today's job market. There are lacunas in everyone's
experience. All I had ever done was cataloguing rare books. But I think
one can still demonstrate that one has learnt about current issues and can
look at the library situation from a management perspective.

Subject: Committee Work
Can anyone help me with this section of the PDR. I am on the Route A
Training programme. I am finding it very hard to come up with practical
answers. One problem I have is that I spend 4 hours a day travelling to and
from work and my training programme does not have anything other than staff
meetings.
Another question is how important is this section to the PDR? If one is not
on a committee does one fail the PDR? Or does other professional involvement
count, like attending AGM's and submitting articles for publication.
Al help and ideas appreciated
Regards
Gordon Armstrong
