For onward transmission to colleagues in the Mersey Deanery (Linda
Ferguson /Kieran Lamb) and to those in the Manchester Deanery without
e-mail (Sue Hall)
To my (long-suffering) colleagues
Not content with asking your help for a presentation at Under One
UmbrelLA5 I am now going to ask you for yet further help. This time
it is in connection with the 4th Joint Conference on Medical
Education (Birmingham 14-16 July 1999).
The Regional Librarians Group is putting up a poster which will
incorporate a power point continuous loop presentation of ways in
which the Regional library networks support LIFE-LONG LEARNING in the
NEW NHS. Each region will contribute up to five slides-worth of info
on what is going on locally. Can you help me with actual examples?
I have already thought about things like literature searching skills,
computer training suites, providing Internet skills, providing quiet
study areas, good document supply etc. Please rack your brains and
lets see how the services, projects etc which you are involved with
are supporting LLL.
TIA for your help - it is important the librarians and LIS generally
get a high profile here particularly because in terms of the
conference itself we are likely to be a numerically small group.
Regards
Valerie
