Two year fixed term contract
Location: Council House, Derby
The Housing Corporartion, Derby City Council and its housing association
partners are funding a two year project to explore the factors affecting
demand for affordable housing and the longer term sustainability of
housing estates. The project will involve gathering statistical data and
interviewing residents and representatives of statutory and voluntary
agencies. A major aim of the project is to develop and pilot a
statistical 'Sustainability Assessment Model'. This will involve the use
of geographical information systems GIS software.
The Research Associate will lead this project. The ideal candidate will
be qualified to at least degree level with practical experience of GIS,
preferably MapInfo, and social research techniques. Knowledge of housing
and regeneration issues would be beneficial though not essential. With
well developed verbal and written communication skills, you will be able
to work on your own initiative and to a defined brief and timetable. You
must be computer literate.
