INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING
SURVEYING & SPACE GEODESY
EXPERIMENTAL OFFICER
The Institute of Engineering Surveying and Space Geodesy (IESSG) is one
of the leading international research institutes in its fields of activity which
include engineering surveying, geodesy, navigation and photogrammetry. In
particular, satellite-positioning systems (such as GPS) constitute its major
field of research. The IESSG carries out extensive contract research for the
European Commission, government, industry and international agencies.
The successful candidate will be expected to take part in the whole range of
research and teaching activities of the Institute. Experience with UNIX and
PC based computing environments is desirable, as is a full driving licence.
The activities include undertaking fieldwork, which may require periods
away from Nottingham.
Applications are invited from candidates with a background in either
surveying, geodesy, earth sciences, navigation, mathematics or geomatics.
Candidates should have a minimum qualification of an appropriate first
degree.
Salary will be within the range £15,735 - £17,570 (Bar) - £20,107 per
annum (under review), depending on qualifications and experience.
