Dear all,
This is a reminder that the Museum Marketing Group's Case Study Seminars
are continuing in the New Year. The importance of marketing in museums
is only just being recognised and these seminars are part of a process
in highlighting the importance of marketing in all museum planning.
Through them the Museum Marketing Group aims to disseminate good
practice and to look at areas where things have not gone accordingly to
plan.
The next session is on 13 January 2000 at the Galleries of Justice in
Nottingham.
The subject is Evening Openings and How to Market Them which is an
increasingly important issue as museums and galleries find new ways of
attracting audiences outside traditional opening hours.
The programme is as follows:
10.45 Arrival
morning coffee in the Grand Jury Room
11.00 Evening Openings
- establishing a demand
- packaging and pricing
- targeting
- promotion
- open session
1.00 lunch
1.45 Tour of the Galleries of Justice
On February 17th the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts will be hosting a
seminar on the Visual Arts in Primary Education in a marketing context
and on March 15th the Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester will be
leading a session on In-House run Membership Schemes.
The Museum Marketing Group are in the process of planning for seminars
for 2000 so expect to hear more.
