What is the conference about?
The development of partnerships between higher education and primary and
secondary schools, further education colleges, communities and businesses is
an integral part of the Government's agenda to widen participation rates in
higher education.
This national conference will focus on how to implement strategies to
develop progression routes and raise aspirations among pupils, students and
adult learners through working in partnership.
Who should attend?
Managers, academic and administrative staff in primary, secondary, further
and higher education who are involved, or who are considering being
involved, in collaborative arrangements.
The main aims of this event are to:
* Focus on innovative projects from a range of institutions
* Share experiences and stimulate discussion on partnership working
* Identify and disseminate good practice through participative
workshops
* Address the impact of national agendas on the delivery of local
partnerships
Workshops
There are two workshop sessions, one in the morning and one in the
afternoon. Five themed workshops are offered each of which will cover
projects and initiatives from two institutions. All workshops will be
offered twice. Workshops will cover:
* Raising aspirations among primary school pupils
* Mentoring and raising aspirations in secondary schools
* Development progression routes to higher education in the post 16
sector
* Taskers, access and progression for adult learners
* Building partnership with the community and voluntary sector
Fees
?55.00 per person (includes lunch, refreshments, conference papers and a
copy of the conference proceedings).
