After initial advice that they should apply through the
national office in Blackpool, we are now told that the
stduent has to apply to the Dept of Education Training at
the NHS Executive Regional office from which they are
funded (ours are about half and half for South West
(Bristol) and South East (London). The stduent's
department should be able to tell them / you which NHS Exec
is appplicable. The process is then similar to applying
to an LEA - in some cases they have even agreed to pay for
Access Centre assessments! (which seemed to be problematic
at first, which is why I mention it).
Hope that helps.
