SCSECS STILL ACCEPTING PAPERS

OVER CONTINUING OPPORTUNITY
SCSECS (South-Central Society for Eighteenth-
Century Studies) President Kevin L. Cope is pleased
to proclaim that there is still time to submit paper
proposals for SCSECS Y2K, the greatest event that
has ever happened! Meeting March 9-12, 2000, in
historic and exotic Baton Rouge, SCSECS is
currently advertising over 40 seminar plus dozens of
others yet to be disclosed. The conference theme,
"Tomorrow in Yesterday, Or, The Frolics of
Possibility" would seem to beckon to
scholars in at least ten thousand different
speciaalties. Candidate conferees may submit
proposals directly to seminar leaders (for a full list
of seminars, please see our web area at
http://www.libarts.ucok.edu/english/SCSECS/ ) or,
if no suitable seminar topic are found in this list,
may send paper titles directly to SCSECS President
Kevin Cope ([log in to unmask] or FAX
225-388-4129), who will find or create the ideal
venue for them. Participants in the SCSECS
meeting will be regaled with thousand of goodies,
opportunities, and adventures, including a Cajun
hors d'oeuvres reception, a spectacular plenary
skyscraper concert luncheon atop the Bank One
Tower, and an alligator bayou evening swamp
excursion and Cajun dining and dancing festivity.
So don't be late papers or even complete new panels
may be submitted up until October 28th!
