We intend shortly to offer in our searchroom direct access to the web
browser version of the National Register of Archives and ARCHON.
We wish to restrict public use to relevant archival sites and other
information resources so that we do not become a free cyber café.
We will need to revise our search room regulations accordingly. Do any
list members offer, or plan to offer, similar public access to the
Internet? If so could you please copy to me information about your
security arrangements and search room regulations?
As this will probably become a standard service in record offices and
libraries, there may be some value in drafting model regulations for
wider use. Please let me know if you are interested in participating.
