Dear list-members,
I am using some samples of Topp's "charcoal" iron for experimental work
at the present time.
It contains an appreciable amount of slag, but markedly less than
puddled iron does. As a first approximation, it might be said to
resemble 17th century munition armour of the lowest quality.
