The Department of Biostatistics at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer
Center is seeking candidates for new faculty positions at all levels.
Requirements include a Ph.D. with evidence of excellent written and verbal
skills. Candidates should have a strong background or strong promise of a
successful career in statistics, biostatistics, statistical computing,
informatics, genetic statistics, or related areas. Responsibilities will
include a combination of methodological research, consulting and collaborative
research with oncologists and laboratory scientists, supervising data analysis,
clinical trial design and teaching, with emphasis depending on individual
strengths and interests.
Under the leadership of its newly appointed chair, Donald Berry, the goals of
the Biostatistics Department are to develop and apply new biostatistical models
and methods in the areas of cancer treatment, cancer prevention, and related
scientific disciplines. Candidates with research interests in innovative
clinical trial design, multivariate survival analysis, statistical computing,
and other areas of biostatistics are encouraged to apply.
M.D. Anderson Cancer Center is one of the three original comprehensive cancer
centers in the United States, and it is part of the Texas Medical Center, the
largest medical and health care center in the world. Houston is a dynamic,

population.
Salary is competitive, depending on rank and qualifications, with an excellent
