Hi,
Sorry to be bothering you all again, but I've noticed that it's
becoming increasingly common for people to send Word documents
to the list. Word documents, or any type of attachment come to
that, shouldn't be sent to Allstat for three very good reasons
1) Not everyone uses mail programs that can handle these
attachments. Word documents appear in their in trays as
(many) pages of gobbledygook.
2) Not everyone uses PCs, so Word documents aren't much use
to them!
3) There is a possibility of passing on a virus.
The moral is that if you want to send a message to Allstat take
time to read the guidelines first - they're there to ensure the
smooth running of the list. The guidelines are covered in both
the FAQ I sent out last week and in the Allstat introduction.
You can also read the guidelines on the Allstat webpage

Matt
