Prudential Annuities - Reading
It doesn't take someone with your analytical skills to spot that Prudential
Annuities will have a huge impact on the annuities market. The first highly
specialist unit dedicated to analysing life expectancy rates, we're set to
introduce new standards of accuracy to annuity and investment pricing
decisions which, in turn, will bring Prudential's products even closer to the
needs of some 400,000 customers.
This new development should give us a distinct advantage in the highly
competitive pensions sector, but it does, of course, depend on finding more
analysts who are as forward thinking as we are. Analysts, who can identify
patterns in national and global life expectancy rates, calculate relevant
risk factors and translate these findings into accurate predictions that we
can build our business on.
If you believe you can do exactly that, then the forecast for your career
couldn't be more positive. Not least, because your ideas and expertise will
help shape the new unit and so influence the entire annuities industry.
RESEARCH MANAGER
You'll liaise with leading experts in the field to build up your knowledge,
as well as commission and carry out original research in order to anticipate
future trends. You will be in charge of a small team and report to the
Actuarial Director.
As the face of Prudential for your contacts, you'll need more than strong
commercial awareness and a sound knowledge of statistical techniques. A
qualified actuary or statistician, you'll also be a good communicator and
presenter, both in person and on paper. These qualities will help you to
build relationships and deal effectively with colleagues and external
contacts alike. Your initiative and aptitude for creative problem solving
will really set you apart.
RESEARCH ANALYST
Reporting to the Research Manager, you'll collate information using a variety
of sources, such as Government statistics and the Internet. On top of
analysing the data to supply mortality predictions, you'll be involved in ad
hoc projects and support the rest of the actuarial team. You won't need a
specific statistical qualification, as your strong background in statistics
or a relevant degree will have given you the experience you need for the job.
Good all-round communication and presentation skills complete the picture.
In both cases, PC literacy is a must. In return, you can expect an
attractive remuneration package and the chance to develop your career in a
company at the very forefront of financial services.
