MAINTENANCE OPTIMISATION:
A FULLY-BAYESIAN APPROACH
Lately there has been an increasing interest in applying risk based
(probabilistic) models to system optimisation, for example in areas
like information and communication, medical and occupational
health and industrial engineering and maintenance. Application of
such models depends to a large extent on which probabilistic
basis is applied.
In this seminar we draw attention to the so-called fully Bayesian
approach to maintenance optimisation. Some key features of the
approach are discussed, including integration of engineering
judgements, uncertainty treatment and type of performance
measures to be used. An example relating to the delay-time
model is used to illustrate the principles described.
