RESEARCH ASSISTANT (VETERINARY STATISTICS)

Scottish Agricultural College (SAC) Veterinary Science Division
recently established an Epidemiology Unit in Inverness to conduct
carefully designed, well executed and properly analysed veterinary
epidemiological studies. Applications are now invited for the post of
Research Assistant (Veterinary Statistics) to work as part of the Unit
team.
The successful candidate will contribute to study design, data
management and statistical analysis for projects supported by the
Epidemiology Unit. If the appointee is interested the potential also
exists to contribute to on farm studies but this is optional. The
appointee will also collaborate on projects with staff at BioSS
(Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland) and receive advanced
statistical and mathematical support through this channel.
Candidates should have received training in statistics or be able to
demonstrate relevant practical experience in statistics. They will
preferably have obtained a post-graduate qualification at MSc level or
above. Someone with a Biological Science Degree and relevant training
in statistics might suit. An interest in Agricultural and/or
Veterinary Sciences is preferred. Computer/statistical training will
be given where appropriate.
The salary scale is on Band 7: £14500 - £20100 (£25700 possible with
performance pay) per annum.
