Senior Scientists, MRC Health Services Research Collaboration
Applications are invited for up to 5 MRC senior posts tenable, in the
first instance, at the Medical Research Council's Health Services
Research Collaboration, Department of Social Medicine, University of
Bristol.
These positions are tenured MRC career scientists, whose main roles
will be to lead the major research programmes within the HSRC, as well
as contributing to the training agenda (details of the research and
training strategy of the HSRC can be found on:

Applicants are expected to be experienced HSR scientists with
international reputations in the field. It is expected that the
complete team will include individuals with expertise in economics,
epidemiology, health psychology, social science and statistics, and a
key requirement will be the ability to promote genuine
multi-disciplinary research spanning these different disciplines.
The posts are in the MRC Band 2 (salary range from £28,000 to £60,000).
The starting salary is likely to be in the range of £28,000 - £40,000
in most cases, depending on relevant qualifications and experience.
Relocation expenses of up to £7,000/person will be available.

Closing date for receipt of applications is 5 March 1999. Interviews
will be held at MRC Head Office in London, in April. Economy fare
expenses to attend interview will be offered to short-listed
candidates.
