TEMPORARY LECTURESHIP IN
APPLIED MATHEMATICS OR STATISTICS
Applications are invited for a two-year post as Temporary Lecturer in
either Applied Mathematics or Statistics. The appointment arises in part
from the award of a Leverhulme Fellowship to Dr Christian Beck. The post
is available from lst September 1999.
Applicants may have research interests in any area of Applied Mathematics
or Probability and Statistics though preference is likely to be given to be
given to candidates whose interests overlap with existing areas of
research, which include Dynamical Systems, Relativity, Integral Equations,
Design of Experiments and Random Matrices. In the 1996 Research Assessment
Exercise, the School was awarded a 5 rating in both Applied Mathematics and
Statistics.
The Temporary Lecturer will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate
teaching within the School of Mathematical Sciences, pursue research and
undertake some limited administrative responsibilities. The salary will be
in the range £18,789 - £20,409 per annum, including London weighting.
