Colleagues
Thank you Roger for your posting on 29th June giving us advance information
about the forthcoming SSIN's regarding Fee Contributions and Attendance
Schedules etc.
I would be very interested to read how other HEI's have interpreted the
apparent requirement to check, at the time of issuing a Loan Cheque, that
the course a student has registered for, is the same as that detailed on
the cheque remittance-advice? We at Aberystwyth are completely at odds
with such a requirement at the point of Loan Cheque issue. Roger's message
states that "the prime responsibility for informing the LEA of any course
change rests with the students".
As the 25th November Attendance Schedule is to have a provsion for HEI's to
notify the SLC of those students in attendance, but on a course or year
different from that on the schedule, our preference will be to use this
schedule as a prompt to write to such students and urge them to notify
their LEA of the correct course detail. Presumably their subsequent loan
instalments will not be disbursed if they fail to do so?
How do other HEI's feel?
Thank you
