ASSISTANT REGISTRAR (PLANNING)
Aston University has an excellent reputation as a leading centre of

future development and success.
We are seeking to appoint a person capable of providing high quality
support and advice to the Senior Management Team. Duties range from
the investigation of strategic planning and policy issues to the
collection and analysis of information that will shape
decision-making. In the first instance this will involve a major
contribution to the preparation of the University's submission for the
Research Assessment Exercise in 2001.
The postholder will also support academic planning activities, under
the guidance of the Head of Registry and Planning Services. This will
involve the preparation of returns to governmental agencies (eg HEFCE
and HESA) which concern student numbers and associated funding.
The successful candidate is likely to be a graduate with experience in
the planning function of a large organisation, preferably in Higher
Education, and a good working knowledge of management information
systems, the preparation and presentation of high level reports, and
committee work. An excellent organiser with well-developed
communication and interpersonal skills, s/he should be able to
build effective working relationships at all levels of the
organisation.
Salary will be on the scale Academic Related Grade 3: u24,591-u29,048
