Chemistry by Harold Varley, Third Edition (1962), page 92. For those of
you without a Varley the method is to add 2.8 grams of ammonium sulphate
to
5 mls of urine. Shake and centrifuge. Re-test with dipstix.
I hope this simple method can be validated with modern assays.
