Only a brief remark: Brother Gerardo, born in Valenza Po and 'conversus' in
the Franciscan house of Palermo, received the family name 'Cagnoli' only in
16th century sources. Recently, Vincenzo Rotolo OFM (editor both of the Vita
and the Treatise on Gerardo's miracle by Brother Bartolomeo Albizi in the
'Miscellanea francescana' 1965 and 1966) has pointed out this in a recent
book printed in Palermo, but I have unfortunately missed its title.
