Dear all,
Long ago a friend mentioned to me that she had once read a description of
the discovery, I believe in 15C- Rome, of an ancient mummified body, and the
intense interest it provoked. I think it was put on display and attracted
big crowds. Unfortunately, my informant had no bibliographical information
about this source, and I wan unable to track it down. Now, years later,
prompted by a student's research, I've begun to wonder about this incident
again. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Can anyone provide any leads
about this incident and the source that describes it?
Sorry that this isn't precisely about religion... except insofar as interest
in dead bodies is always about religion, really!
Thanks -- and happy December break to all!
