Dear All,
I am working on a project that requires the use of data extracted
from the medical records of a major university hospital.
In this work, I have considered that it would be useful to have
information indicating the socio-economic status and class of the
patient. That is, a variable which may proxy the financial ability
of the patient. The data do not provide this particular piece of
information. The only piece of information available is the address
of the patient including the postcode. There is lots of other
information especially of clinical character. It is perhaps worth
saying that the sample will be composed of patients of elderly
people; namely, individuals who are at 65 years of age and up.
With this background in mind, I would be most grateful if you would
provide me any information and suggestions on how to generate a
variable measuring the socio-economic status of the patient.
Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to consider my
request. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards
