Italian consulting firm is bidding for the Project “Technical Assistance to
the Household Energy Programme in the in the IGAD Subregion”” funded by the
European Community. The implementation will presumably start within 4-5

The following experts are required:

Team Leader: Advanced Degree in Civil engineering or a Socio-economy. At
least 10 years of relevant experience in the region and preferably in the
IGAD sub-region.  Proficiency in spoken and written English, knowledge of
French will be an advantage. Citizenship: European. Lenght of assignment :
24 months.

The profile of the team leader should include:
- Proven experience in renewable energy development and promotion of
similar initiatives within the sub-region;
- Ability to work with teams and provide networking with stakeholders
involved in rural energy development;
- Ability to analyse and articulate policy, legislative and institutional
issues in rural energy development and to assist governments in developing
and adopting appropriate measures;
- Capacity to conduct short-term training, demonstration, effective
communication and publicity.

Short term experts and specialists:
· Expert in appropriate building technologies (briquetting, wood saving,
etc.);
· Forestry expert to promote suitable technologies for the utilisation of
wood industry residues as fuel in household;
· Information and evaluation specialist with experience in household energy
consumption and renewable energy resources;
· Environmental legislation specialist;
· Training expert in renewable energy and appropriate building
technologies.

Their characteristics: Advanced Degree in relevant fields. Extensive
knowledge of methodologies for investment project preparation and
appraisal. At least 10 years of experience in the specific sector. Work
experience in African countries, possibly in IGAD sub-region. Proficiency
in English, knowledge of French will be an advantage.  Citizenship:
European. Lenght of assignment : 1 to 3 months.
