ANN LAWSON LUCAS
([log in to unmask])
I'm a Lecturer in Italian at Hull University, U.K., currently teaching
mainly 19th- and 20th-century culture courses and translation from
Italian into English. My specialist modules concern Calvino, Novels and
Memoirs of the Risorgimento, and Children's Literature in Nineteenth-Century
Italy. They are all connected with my research interests, especially the
last which is the product of my main research activities. I work on
Emilio Salgari and Carlo Collodi, and have published
articles on both (some comparative: Collodi and Lewis Carroll), as well
as a new translation/edition of Le avventure di Pinocchio (Oxford World's
Classics 1996). I was recently on the Board of the International Research
Society for Children's Literature, organized its 13th Congress at York
in 1997, and am now editing a volume of selected papers. I'm also
completing a book on Salgari.
Greetings to all! Ann Lawson Lucas
