Hi Karen,
As you say, there are a number of software packages for handling
data. Your choice will be based on what you are trying to accomplish. If
you are building theory, I believe Atlas.ti would be an exceptional tool.
I have also used NUD*IST4 - it will do the same things, but has a somewhat
easier interface. Both packages say they will run on Windows 3.1.
