New at the HES:
A Short History of Education, by G. Benton Clough, London (2nd. edition,
1904).
The first part of this book offers a brief glimpse of some Edwardian
education views (the author finding Rousseau's Emile "not a book to be
recommended for indiscriminate reading" and Froebel "entirely unsuited as
a system to the twentieth century").
The second part of this book has a detailed inventory of legal
measures taken in England between 1802-1903 regarding schooling and
** child labor **: chronologically listing all relevant regulations from
Education Acts, Mines Acts, Factory Acts, Canal Boats Acts, etc.
